One photograph measures 7 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches, and is a composite of 16 photographs, many of them Cheyenne, and also one of the Lakota chief Spotted Tail. The other is 6 x 3 3/4 inches, and is a composite of 12 photographs, many of them group portraits or dwellings among the Yanktons, and also a shot of Sitting Bull. Many or all of these photographs were by William R. Cross of Niobara, NE and Hot Springs, SD. These composites may have been produced as sales tools.
